Delta Queen

The legendary Delta Queen is a National Historic Landmark now operated by Majestic America Line. Built in 1926 Delta Queen is the world's oldest paddle steamer undertaking overnight voyages.
A plethora of information on Delta Queen is available at www.steamboats.org where you find a brief summary of her history - pictures & facts - videos and also some audio files of her fabulous calliope. 360 degree interactive panoramas from aboard Delta Queen are available at 'The Delta Queen Pano Blog'.
The sister ship of Delta Queen, Delta King is operated as a hotel ship in Sacramento, California.
The material used for the clips presented on this page was recorded during a cruise following the Tall Stacks Festival 2006 in Cincinnati.

Sadly, Delta Queen ceased operation as an overnight passenger vessel in 2008. Read this press release (pdf) of Majestic America Line. For now, Delta Queen will serve as a hotel in Chattanooga, TN. To read more about her future and efforts to bring her back to service as an overnight passenger vessel visit: www.save-the-delta-queen.org
